The rebirthing process of child loss is without linear time lines or quantifiable schedules.

It is ever unfolding and anew. The expansions of love and understanding are always evolving with the growing grace of surrender to life’s contractions.

Grief catapultes one unto an accelerated path of growth, littered with the gems of life’s most precious lessons.

The love we have for our children serves as a model for love in it’s most dedicated of expressions.

It is unconditional, unshakeable, and undeniable. And, it is not without boundaries nor heartache.

Losing a child is only as powerfully painful as is immeasurably fierce our love for them.

It has been 5 ½ years since Sawyer took flight in the desert that day; two weeks past his 14th birthday.

5 ½ years down the path of a bereaved mother, I have come to appreciate, bond, and relation with grief’s omnipresence.

It is through the heartaches of grief, the bereaved feel and remain forever connected to the love for those lost.

By learning to lean into the sadness, make friends and peace with the cracks in our hearts, to dance with the sorrow, and hold hands with the pain of what is lost; we keep our love alive and preserve their forever place in our hearts.

And so; as a mother, to know the ultimate depths of love in this way, and to survive the ultimate sorrow of losing it, God forces the hand to land on new heights of understanding, definitions and potentials of Love within the Human experience.

Surviving child loss has taught and will forever continue to teach me the ever-expanding angles, crevasses, and depths of love.

It gives us the opportunity to sit most deeply within ourselves, allowing us to see

most deeply unto others.

As I explore and examine the fine lines of love, as do I discover new pathways, creative routes, and collaborative opportunities to love and be loved.

Lest us love and understand ourselves so deeply,

we unlock the fullest potentials of loving one another.

The outlook is good, friends;

so mote it be.
